Built from the circuit out.
Midnight Amplification was a one-person operation: circuit design, PCB manufacture, assembly and testing, alongside the identity, artwork and merchandise. This selection brings together guitar pedals and speaker cabinets developed and built under the Midnight name.
01 / Electronics & construction
Insidethe sound.
The circuit and the enclosure were developed as parts of the same product. Designing the electronics, manufacturing the PCBs and assembling and testing each build kept the work connected from the first component to the finished pedal.
One person, end to end
Artwork, circuitry, manufacture and testing all sat at the same bench. The finished objects show that relationship directly: the graphics belong to the controls and the controls belong to the circuit inside.
02 / Pedal artwork
A characterof their own.
Each pedal has its own visual identity. Marbled colour, geometric linework and bold lettering sit around the practical requirements of knobs, switches and labels. The range keeps room for experimentation without losing sight of the object in use.
03 / Speaker cabinets
Anotherkind of build.
Speaker cabinets brought the work into timber and larger physical forms. These original builds extend the same hands-on approach beyond the pedal enclosure, with construction, finish and the Midnight identity considered together.
04 / Merchandise
Afterhours.
The merchandise carries Midnight’s world beyond the equipment: moons, soldering irons, circuit-inspired graphics and a little invitation to the land of fuzz and volume. The original artwork has been brought into new editorial mockups for this presentation.
