Heavy steel. Warm welcome.

An illuminated sign for Cavalier Coffee in Brisbane, fabricated from 6 mm steel plate and suspended from four chain points. The acid-treated surface gives the box its weathered character; warm internal light brings the cut lettering and coffee-branch motif into focus.

Steel withcharacter.

The acid treatment creates a varied copper-brown surface across the steel. Light passes through the cut graphics and open underside, giving the solid form a softer presence when illuminated.
